Welfare beyond consumption - New paper accepted:

May 22, 2020

The paper “Welfare Beyond Consumption: The Benefits of Having Less.” by Alexandra Hüttel, Ingo Balderjahn (both University of Potsdam) and Stefan Hoffmann has been accepted by the Journal “Ecological Economics” and will be published soon. Based on representative data from the US (N = 1,075) and Germany (N = 1,070), the study shows that two anti-consumption types (collaborative consumption and voluntary simplicity) do not reduce the well-being of individuals, but in some cases, even improve it.
